Prominence Eruption (01/11/2013)

Nuestra estrella está ya dentro del período de unos dos años que se considera su máximo solar de actividad. Sin embargo este Ciclo Solar 24 está siendo un ciclo débil, y pudiera ser el comienzo de un gran mínimo solar que dure varios ciclos, por lo que estaríamos inagurando en la era de los satélites la primera gran observación científica sobre los posibles efectos y relacciones entre el sol y nuestro planeta, como por ejemplo su posible influencia en el clima terrestre, que algunos sostienen es mucho mayor de lo ya conocido... nos quedan tiempos interesantes para la ciencia.

Our star is already well within the period of two years that is to be considered the maximum solar activity for current Solar Cycle 24. However this Solar Cycle 24 is still a weak cycle, and could be the beginning of a large solar minimum lasting several cycles, so that humanity in the age of satellites shall obtain for the first time a most comprehensive scientific observation on the possible effects and relationships between the sun and our planet, including its possible influence on Earth's climate, which some argue is much greater than what is already known ... interesting times ahead for Science.
